Thyon will once again host the Telemark World Cup finals this winter. The event will be held from 19 to 21 March 2020 and more than 70 athletes from all over the world are expected in the Val d’Hérens for these 3 days of high-level competition.

Celebrate St Patrick’s Day on Saturday 14 March 2020 at the Thyon 4 Vallées! Be met with friendliness coupled with a warm and festive atmosphere along with folk, rock and Celtic punk music.

We have now completed the first two apartment buildings : Aiguilles Rouges & Tête Blanche, which is an achievement in itself, and establishes the architecture of the complex, allowing one to imagine the sense of place that will be created by the whole.

While construction works were going full tilt on site, the timber hotel bedrooms were under fabrication in a workshop,  and are now completely finished, bathrooms and all and ready to be lifted into place and “plugged in” in Hérémence.

We broke ground at the end of 2016. Little by little the excavation work started to change the form of the landscape, with  slopes and terraces creating the seat from which the thermal centre and hotel complex could evolve.

Essertse is the name given to the high altitude plateau at over 2'300 m, situated at the foot of the peaks of the “Crêtes de Thyon”. This is a protected site that evolved over 13’000 years ago, and houses some of the highest peat bogs and wetlands in Europe with a unique natural habitat of rare plant and animal species.

There are many ways to reach Lac Bleu of Arolla (2090 m). The most popular is to start from  La Gouille and walk through the larch forest to le Louché. The most direct is to go straight up from Satarma. And the most buccolic is follow a path that contours around the mountain from Arolla . Whichever route you choose, you will be rewarded by a picture postcard view!
