PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Mquette Bains Thermaux et Spa Dixence Resort | Projet immobilier en Valais, Suisse

The restaurant,  bar and wellness center are open to the public and form an integral part of the hotel, which is conceived to fit in with the local traditional alpine architecture. The concept behind the development is to maximize year round occupancy.

The idea is to welcome visitors over the full 12 months of the year and avoid the see-saw effect of the winter ski season peak and the short summer blip that Thyon-Les Collons suffers from. Year round access to the thermal spa will be a major factor in redressing this balance.

What is more, the location of the Thermes de la Dixence at a crossroad of mountain trails and « hautes routes » means that not only is it an ideal base camp for ski touring but also for hiking and mountaineering, which carries on through from spring to summer and well into the autumn.

Thermes de la Dixence will be built on a plot 25’088 m2 and is subdivided into the following sectors :

• hotel sector
• thermal spa
• chalets
• residential
• gardens

The first two buildings are now complete, and construction of the hotel and thermal baths is underway, on programme to open in 2020.

Every dwelling has a breath taking view and allows one to escape from the hustle bustle of life into nature.

The natural source of the thermal water of Combioulaz bubbles to the surface at the foot of Val d’Hérens, where the geological fault approaches the surface. This is one of the most significant resurgences of hot thermal water in Switzerland : no less than 81 sources have appeared in the area, at temperatures of 25 à 29 °C, and have been known by locals for generations for their curative properties.

This is an incredible opportunity to capture the source and to maximize its potential in the creation of a true thermal center.

The strict minimum of organic treatment will be used in the thermal baths, to maintain the purity of the water without secondary effects.

The thermal complex will include an indoor pool, an outdoor pool with various water features, 3 jacuzzis, and a wellness center offering various treatments.

The baths will be open to the general public, and in a single day you could both enjoy the mountains on ski and from the thermal baths.

The first of the 5 luxury chalets, has been customised to suit the needs and exquisite taste of the purchaser, who took possession at the end of 2018. The remaining 4 are still available for sale, clad in weathered timber and natural local stone, with stone roofing, with the internal fit out customised to suite the owner’s requirements

Works 2019

We have now completed the first two apartment buildings : Aiguilles Rouges & Tête Blanche, which is an achievement in itself, and establishes the architecture of the complex, allowing one to imagine the sense of place that will be created by the whole.

Progress report

,
We broke ground at the end of 2016. Little by little the excavation work started to change the form of the landscape, with  slopes and terraces creating the seat from which the thermal centre and hotel complex could evolve.
